American Dream
A surrealist short film created during the summer of 2020. Creating this film was a very different experience to my other films as I was directing the animation process done by my brother using Blender. I created the concept and implemented the ARG elements throughout the film, including QR codes and morse code unveiling further content and narrative. I also edited the film conjoining each segment to appear seamless and flowing through keying as well as adding extra details, such as more traditional drawn animation over the top of certain segments. I am pleased with the final product with the film being done in such a short amount of time. This video ended up gaining over 24,000 views on YouTube.

HAPPYSLAP
After being murdered, Harvey decides he wants revenge. Happy Slap was created as part of a BFI course in the height of the winter lockdown. While applying to the course to see what it is like working in a team, due to lockdown restrictions I ended up working alone. I wrote, storyboarded, directed, edited and acted in this short film, with it being my first proper live action film which later premiered at the Showroom Cinema. Despite having some audio problems, ending with the audio to be re-recorded at a later date (thank god I gave my characters face masks making the dubbing easier!) I found creating this film creatively fulfilling and enjoyable, especially convincing people to be my body double and dress as a ghost in public places. Created from October 2020 to January 2021

LIPSTICK
14-year-old Lacie has decided she has had enough of her mother. This film was created in a week during a BFI Craft Skills residential in Edinburgh. I travelled down and stayed at Queen Margaret University where I worked within a team taking on different roles for each scene, including director, assistant-director, camera operator, camera assistant, lighting technician, art department, sound technician, boom operator and cinematographer and later in post-production editing and taking foley for some scenes. This residential opened my eyes to what the industry is like with my prior films being created alone rather than in a team. I really fell in love with the collaboration process to piece together the best ideas. Created in August 2021

How to Make Money Quick
Times ticking til the deadline of Leon's eviction, will he find a way to make money quick? Created in a fortnight with the prompt of 'work' I wrote, directed, acted and edited this film. I really enjoyed working on this project and experimenting with a more light-hearted film in comparison to my others. I especially enjoyed creating a montage to TV Girl’s Pantyhose, something I had never done before but found it really fun editing the clips and diegetic sound to the beat of the music. Working with a majorly silent film where I was the only actor was quite challenging, therefore, I storyboarded the film and in scenes which needed camera movement I created test shots to show my brother who filmed them how I wanted them. Created in January 2022

Monster Debunker
Meet Morgan Pader, a monster debunker on a mission to expose the truth on the supernatural in the UK. Created as part of my A-level coursework for media studies I wrote, directed, filmed and acted in this three minute documentary opening. I tried learning some new skills for this film including the 3D modelling software Blender, creating the 3D opening shots of monster photos on a desk, I am really pleased with how it turned out. I wanted to use a lot of varying cinematography and editing techniques to keep the documentary high paced and interesting to the family demographic, such as an audio visualiser for a phone call. Created October 2021
